Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle

Whenever I hear the word “truffle”, I immediately think of a fancy lady’s boudoir, where she devours sumptuous chocolate truffles.

Mmmm….you have a food fixation, Christina.

Pink Truffle is one of the colors in Revlon new line of ColorBurst Lip Butters, which are “Buttery balms with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips”

PT is a sheer medium brown with rose pink tones.

It goes on smooth and feels quite moisturizing.

With flash:

I was surprised at how much color was deposited on my lips. I always think that lip products advertised as balms will be too sheer to reveal any real color on my pigmented lips. Pink Truffle reminds me of a glossier Rosy Nude, or a browner NYX Milan.

I like how I can build up the intensity if I want to. If I want a more natural look, I can apply less.

Alas, one thing I do not like about this is the lack of longetivity. As a balm, it doesn’t have the lasting power of a regular lipstick. It stays put decently for about 2 hours, then I have to reapply.

Pros: Beautiful shades, moisturizing, feels good on my lips, available at many drugstores.
Cons: Lasts for only 2 hours, price point is a little high for a drugstore brand.

Grade: A

  1. This is a nice color on you, Christina! Apparently if I had got one shimmer-less shade I’d be much happier with this whole lip butter line!
