Review: Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Really Black

Today’s review (brought to you courtesy of Christina’s wallet) will focus on a permanent eyeliner in Clinique’s makeup line.

quickliner

It’s a mechanical style eyeliner. One end has a smudge tip meant for softening lines.

Really black is supposed to be the darkest black in the color lineup.

tip

The pencil twists up fairly easily. Mine never got stuck.

tip2

The color is a soft black with no shimmer. It’s not a jet, ink-black. This is not MAC Feline 2.0

quicklner swatch

The two swatches on the bottom and middle are one swipe. On the top what you see is 3 swipes. On my tanned skin this is not “really black”.

When it comes to performance, this smudged and faded pretty badly on me. On my lower lashline it lasted 2-3 hours. On my upper lashline, it lasted 4-5 hours. Not very good at all.

I could better handle the fading if it at least lasted longer than 3 hours. I have oily lids, but I rarely experience such dismal fading with eyeliners. :(

Pros: Glides on smoothly, convenient twist up packaging.
Cons: Color is not very dark, fades quickly, smudges easily, a little costlier for an eyeliner

Grade: D
