Review: L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

This tiny bottle of liquid foundation is rather cute, yes?

I like things that use less packaging. It’s also good for travel.

My shade is Caramel Beige W7. To be precise, it’s not my exact, perfect shade, but it comes close. I wish it were a little more golden. Once it’s blended onto my face, it’s difficult to tell there’s a shade mismatch.

From the website: With patented color technology, True Match™ Makeup precisely matches your skin’s tone and texture and coordinates perfectly with True Match™ Powder, Blush, and Concealer. Formulated with Precise Match™ Technology so you can control coverage and fine-tune it. Ultra-pure formula contains no oils, fragrances, or pore-clogging fillers, so all you see is beautiful, radiant, flawless skin. With Vitamins A and C, wheat germ and grape fruit extract to keep your skin nourished, protected and healthy.

The coverage is supposed to be light to medium. This is accurate. I layered it on to build up coverage. I tend to prefer medium to full coverage foundations, so light coverage wasn’t sufficient for me. I applied a little more for extra coverage.

The foundation stayed in place and didn’t migrate for at least 7 hours. I don’t think you should go swimming wearing this, but for an average work day it should stay put.

I didn’t experience any cakiness or patchiness. I was able to blend it easily with my fingers. The formula is a little thin so try a little bit at a time and figure out how much you would need.

Pros: Buildable coverage, doesn’t seem to clog pores, affordable, easy to use packaging.
Cons: Coverage may not be sufficient for some people, could use more golden tones in the product line, some may prefer a pump dispenser.

Grade: A

  1. Heh, I like your comment about not going swimming with it – I think that’s a pretty good indicator of staying power, actually! I don’t think I’ve ever put water on my face and expected a foundation to stay :-P
