Holiday Makeup Tutorial for Dark Skin

Hello everyone!

Welcome to The Makeup Train’s first tutorial. This particular tutorial is aimed at people with dark skin, but it can be modified to suit your skin if you have a different complexion. I hope it helps anyone seeking a fun look for the holidays. Please comment and let me know what you think of it, if you tried it on yourself, and what kinds of tutorials you would like to see me do.

Some of the products I used

I prepped Cece’s face with a face primer(I used DHC Velvet Skin Coat). I then mixed Ni’xie Cream Foundations in Tantone 12 & Beige 6 with facial moisturizer to create her shade. I set it with Ben Nye Neutral Setting Powder.

I applied UD PP on Cece's eyelid. Using the small e/s brush, I applied an orange-toned honey gold e/s (MAC Amber Lights) all over the lid up to the crease.

Using the crease brush, I applied a shimmery cranberry red (NYX Copper) into the crease.

Using the small e/s brush, I carefully patted a shimmery dark green e/s (NARS Night Porter) into the outer corner of the eyelid.

Using the eyeliner brush, apply a thin line of black cream/gel liner (L'Oreal HIP Black)on the upper lash line. Liquid liner could also work.

Using a black eye pencil (Sephora Flashy WP in Deep Black), apply a thin line along the lower lash line. Using the eyeliner brush, apply the same shimmery dark green e/s over the lower lash line, focusing on the outer corner to the center of the eye.

Curl the eyelashes and apply black mascara. Tap a light true gold e/s (Urban Decay Half Baked) onto the brow bone to highlight. Sweep away any e/s fallout under the eyes using the setting powder. Finish the look by applying a deep bronze shade (NARS Casino) on the apples of the cheeks, then dust along the cheekbones. Apply a shimmery dark brown lipstick (Revlon Iced Mocha) with a lip brush, then top with a glimmery golden brown lip gloss (NYX Hot Fudge).

This is the end result on the adorable Cece.

Happy holidays everyone!
