Review: POP Eye Cake in Mocha Eyes

In my quest to accumulate as much neutral eye makeup as humanly possible, I bought the POP Mocha Eyes Eye Cake from ACW a couple of months ago. You know, I should have enough sense to realize that I can only wear so much eyeshadow at one time. Oh well, I like my neutrals and I am here to review one of them.

POP Eye Cakes cost about $4.99 on ACW. I mentioned my purchase in one of my haul posts. This is what it looks like.

It comes in a round metal tin, an unusual choice for a beauty product in an industry filled with brightly colored plastic palettes. I wore all the colors for about 7-8 hours a day for two days. I had no major problems with fallout or creasing. The shadows applied easily and smoothly. While my EOTD photo sucks, the final eye look was a nice one (in person). The colors complemented each other well. They were not as vibrant or intense on my face as they looked in the pan, but they are neutrals so I am not too fussy about this. As for package durability, I dropped the tin by accident, and I noticed that a few flakes of powder came off, though the product was largely unharmed.

Pros: Very affordable, applies nicely, interesting looking packaging, nice addition of an orange shade in the browns lineup.
Cons: Not so sturdy packaging, not as pigmented as it could be.

Grade: B+
