Recently I worked at a photo shoot with the lovely Melody, a French model living in NYC. She’s a student at Columbia University (brains and beauty, I love it!), she’s very funny, and a pleasure to work with.
Melody has a unique, golden beauty. I chose peach eyeshadows and a glossy, muted rose lip color to enhance her already stunning face.
1) Face: Melody has near perfect skin (I know, jealous, right?). I primed her face using DHC Velvet Skin Coat, then I used Ni’xie Cream Foundation in Beige 6 as a concealer, applying it to her cheeks and blending carefully. I blended two shades from the Coastal Scents Concealer Palette and applied it under her eyes, smoothing it out to cover the shadows under her eyes. I finished with a light dusting of Ben Nye Neutral Setting Powder.
2) Eyes: I swept NYX Peach over her lids up to the crease, then applied Urban Decay Jones over it. I patted. then blended, a matte brown shade from the Coastal Scents 88 Matte Palette into the outer v. A thin line of brown cream liner from the Smashbox Cream Liner Palette was applied to her upper lashline. To further define her olive green eyes, I used the same shade that was used in the outer v to line her lower lashline (I did not line all the way to the inner corner). Her lashes were coated in Almay One Coat Lengthening Mascara in Black. An off-white matte shadow from the Coastal Scents palette was applied to her browbone, and Urban Decay Half Baked was dabbed in the inner corners of her eyes for a pop of gold. I like her brow color, so I simply brushed the hairs into place and left it at that.
3) Cheeks: I swept on Perry Ellis Sheerly Natural Blush in Burnt Melon, starting at the apples of her cheeks and blending to her temples. Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder in Gold was applied to her cheekbones, down her nose, and to her chin.
4) Lips: I lined and filled in her lips with Bobbi Brown Lip Liner in Soft Rose, then applied Neutrogena Moisture Shine Gloss in First Blush. I wanted to keep it very natural, so I didn’t use lipstick. The Bobbi Brown liners work so well! Soft Rose gave her lips a lovely hint of color.
