How to Dupe MAC Midnight Blues Fluidline

Midnight Blues is a very popular fluidline shade from MAC’s recent MAC Me Over collection. It’s also gotten very difficult to find.

Luckily, you’ve got a stubborn blogger/makeup artist/blue eyeliner lover. I have found a way to get a close match to Midnight Blues.

This is a swatch of The Real Deal (far right shade):

This is my creation:

On the top: Stila Smudge Stick in Peacock. On the bottom: Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Deviant.

How I did it:

-Take a jet-black pencil liner (I used MAC PowerPoint in Engraved) and apply it heavily.
-Use a teal or deep blue pencil liner on top. Shade them together.

I think the Stila Peacock  combo is very close to Midnight Blues, but you can add a little more black liner to make it slightly darker.

Some other ideas:

-Mix Blacktrack and Waveline fluidlines together
-Use a black gel liner, and add some deep blue powder shadow or pigment on top and blend until you get the desired shade.

What do you guys think? Close enough? Too much work? Will you try it yourself?

Disclaimer: The Midnight Blues swatch photo was taken from The Shades of U. I do not own it and I have no claim to it. The original post can be found here.

I like to do things like this in a second, so this is a bit too much work for me. Neat idea, though! =D

I saw a review on youtube where she mixed Urban Decay’s Flipside eyeshadow with a black eyeliner base and the color was very close to Midnight Blues.

Thanks a lot. Your advice was very helpful:))))
