Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with Organic Tea Tree Oil

I was perusing the aisles at Trader Joe’s (okay, okay, I was looking for cookies, but you don’t think I’d readily admit that, do you?) when I spied some bottles of Desert Essence Face Wash. I was looking for a new cleanser that could tackle the job of properly cleaning my perpetually oily, slightly acne-prone face. It was $7, so it couldn’t bankrupt me to try it. Into my basket it went.

That was a year ago. I loved it enough to stick with it.

That banged up bottle on the right is the original I purchased on that long-ago day. I bought a refill bottle on so I could refill my convenient pump bottle.  Aren’t I clever?

I use this face wash in the shower. I squirt some onto my Facial Loofah and rub that all over my face and neck. The consistency is very runny and watery. It’s definitely not creamy or gel-like, if that is what you’re used to.

Available at Whole Foods,, and most health food stores. I have not seen this at my local Trader Joe’s recently, but I am not sure if my store is an anomaly and other TJs carry it.
