Review: NARS Illuminator in Orgasm

Were you ever a highlighter person? I mean, were you someone who collected yellow, pink, blue highlighters and marked every book you own with them?

I never did that, but I did make good use of my pink and yellow highlighters to accentuate the best parts of my biology textbook.

Puh-leeze. Like there were any “best parts” in that book.

Nowadays, highlighters grace my face instead of my books. I received a sample of NARS Orgasm in an order I placed a while ago.

The website describes it as  “A collection of light-reflecting liquids that glide on to refresh and enhance the complexion with shimmering incandescence. Deceptively sheer, decidedly luminous.”

That’s accurate to me!

Orgasm is a peachy pink with gold shimmer.

And here it is blended onto my skin:

With flash:

I applied a little of this along my cheekbones and blended it in. It left such a beautiful shimmer on my tanned skin! I have oily skin, so I was careful to apply a little.

I think this product should be used sparingly, because too much of it can make your face look like a disco ball. I wore this highlighter for about 6 hours with no problems. It stayed in place, and the sparkles didn’t migrate.

It was a tad sticky going on, but blended well, and it took only a few seconds to dry. There is a slight perfume smell that faded quickly.

The only thing about this is, I would caution anyone to not apply too much at first. There is the chance you could overdo it. Start with a tiny bit, then add more as needed.

Do I recommend this? I would be foolish not to!

Pros: Blends well, beautiful colors, dries quickly, stays in place.
Cons: Not everyone wants to pay $29 for this, not easy to apply for a beginner.

Grade: A

Sold at www.narscosmetics.com, www.sephora.com and Sephora stores.
