This new year will (hopefully) bring us clearer skin, smoother hair (with body and shine) and the perfect shade of foundation. Fingers crossed- it will also bring us the effort and resolve to right our beauty wrongs.
I have some resolutions for the upcoming year:
1) Take better care of my skin. I’m getting older (no old lady jokes!) and I have to really step up my game when it comes to skin care. I resolve to wash off my makeup EVERY night, apply moisturizer nightly, and use more oils and eye creams. I don’t want to look haggard before I’m 30! 🙂
2) Practice yoga and try to reduce my stress levels. I don’t like to share too many of my personal problems on the Net, so that’s why you rarely read anything about my family or my domestic partner. He has bipolar disorder, and sometimes dealing with his antics is too much for me. I am going to try to learn to manage my stress levels better. I haven’t practiced yoga in years, but when I did in the past, I recall that it made me feel a lot better. As I get older, I realize more and more that I cannot control how others feel and think, but I can control my own behavior.
3) This relates a little to #2: Focus more on the positive and less on the negative. Negativity can only bring me down and make me unhealthy (both physically and mentally). It’s perfectly natural and human to feel down sometimes, but letting negativity rule my thoughts is no way to live. I’m getting a broom and sweeping negative energy out the door!
