Summer Beauty Basics: Jason Natural Sunbrellas KIDS Natural Sunblock SPF 45

I wanted to share with you guys the sunblock I’ve been using for the past 2 summers.

I wanted a sunblock that was more natural than the  regular commercial sunblocks. I tried Nature’s Gate at first, but that was supremely greasy on my face. I looked like I had fallen face first into a vat of Crisco.

Jason Sunbrellas for Kids SPF 45 was something I saw at Whole Foods. It was only about $9 for 4 ounces, so I decided to give it a go. It makes my face a little greasy, but it’s manageable. I keep NYX Blotting Papers in my purse during the summer, so I can live with the greasiness.

The results make me happy. My skin has not once felt tight or uncomfortable after a couple of hours in the skin while wearing this sunblock. I don’t tan much either. One thing that I have to endure when exposed to the sun is getting tanned (even more than I already am) and getting hyperpigmentation while doing so. Jason Naturals sunblock assists me in avoiding the tanning and hyperpigmentation. I do usually tan a little, but the sunblock helps a lot.

I bought the kids’ version, because I was hoping it would be gentler on my skin. Plus, it has an awesome bubblegum scent!

Oh come on. You know the little kid in you loves bubblegum scented products. 😛

My biggest complaint is the greasy feel on my face. It is also a little thick. I use a small amount and work it across my neck and face. It also starts out as a white cream, so I have to rub it in well to avoid looking like Casper.

Overall, the price and quality are working for me. I am still on the lookout for a decent natural sunblock that mattifies my face, but until I find it, Jason Natural Sunblock is what I’ll be using.
