Review: Revlon Lip Butter in Fig Jam

Figs get a bad rap in the snack world. They’re seen as old-fashioned at times, and only get referenced in “figgy pudding” or books talking about the diets of the Ancient Egyptians.

Revlon has changed all that, with the very hip and lovely Fig Jam.

As the name implies, it is a deep fig brown. It looks crazy dark in the tub, right? That’s what I thought.

But check this out:

L-R: Swatched 4 times; swatched once.

See? It’s not too dark at all.

With flash:

L-R: Swatched 4 times, swatched once.

It’s a lovely orange-toned medium fig brown on my tanned skin. This is now sharing the throne with Pink Truffle as my favorite Lip Butter.

What makes me most happy is that the deep color fades to a stain on my lips. Touch ups are less frequent. With PT, the color lasted for only 2 hours, but it was a lighter shade, so I expected to reapply sooner. With FJ, I have one less thing to worry about through the day.

As with Pink Truffle, Fig Jam is moisturizing and glides on smoothly. Feels amazing on my lips.

Pros: Gorgeous color (darker skin tones will love this), fades to a stain, moisturizing and easy to apply.
Cons: A slightly high price point for  a DS product.

Grade: A+

I really should give these another chance! I was unfortunate enough to pick two that contains shimmer (glitter!) and it just isn’t my favorite type of things.
