Very Sad News…

I know many of you have noticed I have been absent from the blog. The reason is this: My boyfriend’s best friend, a guy he knew since childhood, hung himself on Saturday. We went to the funeral yesterday. I was too distraught to post anything, and too busy hosting people at my house, comforting others, etc.

Suicide should never be a option for anyone suffering from depression. If you or anyone you know appears to be suicidal, please call 1-800-273-TALK. Or visit their website.

It could make a difference in saving someone’s life.

Beauty/product junkie hiding behind the title of certified makeup artist (that's the excuse I use for my makeup addiction). I am a human pet to two cats, a full time college student majoring in Cultural Anthropology and an organic food enthusiast (read: organic food freak) who cooks, bakes, and has not burned down the kitchen (I'm waiting for it). Aargh Christina I’m SO sorry to hear this. I can see how it has shaken you and your boyfriend profoundly. I hope you guys will recover soon. In the meantime, I agree with you that we can all pay a little more attention to the emotional state of those around us.

    • Thank you, Sunny. We’re trying to cope with this tremendous loss, but I’m hoping that everyone who reads this will take depression and suicidal threats seriously. A person who claims to be depressed cannot just “snap out of it”. They need professional help.

I am truly sorry for your loss, I cant even imagine what you must be feeling right now. Its so unfortunate that some people see suicide as their only option

    • Thank you, bin du. What is so tragic is that he was a very intelligent 23 year old. He was majoring in neuroscience, composed music in his spare time and got straight As in school. He had his whole life ahead of him. 😦

Oh no Chris, I’m so so sorry for you, your boyfriend and for his friend for feeling that what he chose was his only option. I’ve felt that way before and I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone. I just hope wherever he is that he isn’t hurting anymore. There is always help and you can and will feel better. Even if you know you will hurt again, you HAVE to make the good times worth it. Thank you for sharing and much, much love to you guys. ❤

OMG I am so sorry to hear about this! Condolences to his family and friends.
