Review: Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Sunlit Bronze

Sunlit Bronze sounds so radiant and inviting.

I love bronze shades so much. They so warm and golden, but burnished enough to be more than regular gold.

Today I’m reviewing a set of bronzey eyeshadows, courtesy of drugstore megabrand Maybelline.

There are four neutral shades, all warm-toned.

  1. A light peachy champagne gold.
  2. A midtone warm bronze.
  3. A medium walnut brown.
  4. A deeper chestnut brown.

As you can see, it doesn’t really pack a pigmented punch. I applied these shadows over a primer, and I got maybe 4 hours of wear out of them before they started to fade.

I applied more eyeshadow to build up intensity. Despite the sheerness shown in the photo, it wasn’t as annoying as one may think.

Still, it would have been nice to achieve a better opacity on the first swipe. They aren’t as long lasting and color-intensive as I like my eyeshadows to be.

The packaging is a flip-top design and it’s easy to use. There is little space being wasted on this.

I would try to use this up, but I won’t repurchase it.

Pros: Very affordable, nice colors, easy to find in stores.
Cons: Doesn’t last too long on eyelids, sheer formula.

Grade: B-
