Chai Latte is the only drink I ever order from Starbucks.
Okay, I lied. I also order cafe lattes. And vanilla bean Frappuccinos.
It’s no wonder I gravitated toward an eyeshadow quad named for a coffee drink. I never really live outside of coffee shops.
The Base color is an off-white, beige shade. It has subtle microshimmer.
The Lid color is an amber bronze shade. It has shimmer.
The Crease shade is a cool taupe. It has subtle shimmer.
The Liner shade is a sparkly gold shimmer-infused dark brown.
And here are the swatches:
Left to right, first row then second: Lid, Liner, Base and Crease.
I was very happy with the pigmentation. I got some decent use out of all these shadows. Of course, I used a primer. I first applied the Base shade all over, then blended the Lid shade with the Lid shade of Chocolate Mousse (will write that review soon), and blended it a little with the Crease shade. I used the Liner shade as the outer v shade.
With primer, this lasted about 5 hours before I started to lose the Liner shade in the outer v. By the time I got home from work, it was basically gone. There was mostly the Lid shades left.
The packaging is decent. The flip top lid makes it easy to open up, but it doesn’t stay up without some assistance. It is also not entirely shatter-proof, so be careful not to drop it on a hard floor.
Overall, I think this is a passable eyeshadow quad for a drugstore brand. If you want a neutral quad and have an olive/tanned complexion, this is not a bad find. You can make this work if you are on a budget and are looking at drugstore brands for eyeshadow.
Pros: Good pigmentation, affordable item, easy to access, nice shades.
Cons: Doesn’t last longer than 5 hours
