Simply the Best: Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment

In this post, I talked about some Ole Henriksen skin care products I picked up from Sephora. In one of the kits was a cute lil’ jar of this clear gel.

That’s not a photo of a cute lil’ jar. It is actually a photo of a cute medium-sized bottle.

That’s because I went out and bought the full sized bottle because I loved it so much.

From the website:

“This overnight resurfacer accelerates cell turnover to dramatically smooth texture & fine lines, even skintone & minimize appearance of pores with a 12 source AHA complex including glycolic, lactic & citric acids. Suspended in soothing purified algae & vitamin e, this concentrated blend delivers rapid results without irritation. Wake up to radically smoother, younger looking skin.
  • Algae extract Nourishes the skin with vitamins and minerals
  • Alpha hydroxy acid complex Renews skin cells, diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, soothes texture and balances skin tone. Regulates overactive sebaceous glands to minimize blemishes
  • Mucopolysaccharrides Binds moisture to the skin and provides superior hydration
  • paraben free
Formulated Without
  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Phthalates”

I didn’t expect too much from this when I started using it because I feel like gel treatments can’t do a whole lot for my two fine lines and blemishes. However, within a week of using this (topped with Sheer Transformation), I saw AMAZING results! My face looked smoother, clearer, more youthful, radiant and I actually felt like I could go without foundation if I felt like it.

I didn’t feel like it, of course. You know I love foundation. If I ever say I don’t love foundation on this blog, that’s how you know it’s been hijacked by an imposter.

So, in other words, I recommend this. If you have sensitive skin, be careful because this may be a little harsh for sensitive skin. Try to get a sample before you purchase the large bottle. For everyone else fast approaching 30, try it out!

Ingredient list: Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Algae Extract, Glycerin, Calcium Ascorbate, Sorbitol, Tocopherol, Vaccinium Myrtillus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance (Parfum)

Price: $48 for 1.7 ounces. The price may seem intimidating, but I only use a little bit for my face and neck, so it lasts quite a while.

  2. I’m going to see if I can get a sample for sure. I do have sensitive skin so that’s probably my best bet. But it sounds lovely and you have me wanting to try it!

  5. I haven’t tried this one (yet), but the mixture of glycolic and lactic acid sound lovely. So far the Ole Henriksen products have really impressed me and I will put it on my list of things to try.
