In the Noel set, I received this eye pencil, which is new to the Lancome family.
It was a travel size product, but as you can see, I’ve gotten much use out of it. 🙂
It applies a true, deep black. No grayish tones or charcoal finish here.
This eyeliner is meant to be a liquid liner in pencil form. It’s promoted as one that applies as dark and rich as a liquid, but with the ease of use a pencil offers. I have found this to be true. It applies beautifully and gives me a very dark black color. It dries very quickly and I have trouble removing it with my finger (it doesn’t smudge). It comes off fairly easily with eye makeup remover, but I find that I have to run the cotton over the same spot twice to get everything off.
It is a very soft pencil, so I found myself having to sharpen it frequently. This was the one issue I had with it. It wears down quickly, and the point is impossible to keep sharp unless one sharpens it after each use. I also experience a breaking incident where the entire tip came off and I had to sharpen it several times (wasting product) to reach a newly shaped tip.
Pros: Applies much like a liquid (very black and dries in place), is rich in color and lasts all day.
Cons: Very soft product, which wears down quickly. Sharpening this often will lead to it finishing faster than the average eyeliner pencil.
If your beauty budget allows it, I recommend this eyeliner. Otherwise, you will be spending a lot of money to replace this pencil. I really like it, but I would like something less soft and a little more resistant to wear.
The full sized version of this is $23.
