It’s summer!!!! How has June been treating all of you?
I am approaching my one year work anniversary. June also marks the 8th year since I became a makeup artist. My makeup artist career has been on a semi-break, but I am still practicing on my own faces and the faces of my friends.
Here is what I have been loving lately:
1) Eye of Shiva earrings: My jewelry obsession has led me back to costume (non-fine) jewelry. These shell earrings are simple, cute and work well for summer fashion ensembles.
2) “Athair Ar Neamh” by Enya: I bought this song as a download for my new tablet. I fall asleep to it (PTSD makes me an uneasy sleeper). It’s really beautiful, the melody is gentle and calming, and her voice sounds heavenly.
3 ) MAC Fluidline Eye Pencil in Earth Sign: I bought this in Arlington, VA during my shopping trips there. It’s a great dark brown for work days and neutral makeup days.
4) Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black: I got this in a 500 point perk box from Sephora. I will have to write a review on it soon. I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. It was on the radar within the Youtube/blogging community a couple of years ago, and back then I thought it was an “it product” and the hype I would die down. I understand now why it was so popular.
5) The Amazon Fire 7 Tablet: As mentioned above, I have a new tablet! I am slow to collect the newest gadgets and devices that people younger than me (note: I was saying this 10 years ago about my classmates) tend to buy. I still have an older flip-phone type of cell phone and no iPod or anything else. So this is a milestone purchase for me. I read lots of reviews and articles written about Fire 7. Apparently it’s a good starter tablet. It has all the basics and you can surf the web and download books and music. The camera installed on it is terrible, but I didn’t buy it for that so I’m not mad about it. I mostly use my tablet to give my old computer (I told ya everything I own is obsolete!) a break to cool down when it gets too hot and to play sleep music at night.
That’s my list! What’s on your current favorites list?
