Tuesday Talk: Self Care Sessions Vol. 1

I’m resurrecting (good term for the spring season lol) this old category for the purposes of my weekly self-care posts.

Once a week we’ll chat about what we did during the past week to nourish our mental health and protect our mental well-being.

Things I did during the past week:

  1. Watched this cute and moving (for me, at least) short.
  2.  Baked a sunshine cake.
  3. Pinned some items I want to My Style.
  4. When I had some flashbacks to abusive situations, I reminded myself that it’s not my fault I was abused and my abuser is to blame.
  5. I painted my nails for fun and not for swatching purposes.

I also came across this bingo card (how I do love Internet bingo cards) which basically confirms everything I’ve been feeling throughout my life. It’s nice to be able to name what I have.

What forms of self-care have you done within the past week?

  1. I gave myself a pedicure and took a few very long hot baths. Very relaxing. The bingo card is mostly spot on!

Glad to see you did some things for you last week. Keep it up!

  2. Spend time with the family, going out for brunch, going out for ice cream and taking one hour reading a magazine instead of doing never ending blog work.

  3. Yum to that sunshine cake!
