The last time I tried out the standard L’Oreal eyeshadow singles, I may have been in high school. There have been so many other shadows to try that I sort of overlooked the main line.
From left to right: Smooth Latte and Deep Mocha.
From left to right: Deep Mocha and Smooth Latte.
The eyeshadows are housed in sleek, snap-shut cases. They are small enough to fit into a purse or make bag. The cases are sturdy and hardy. If I dropped it from a short distance I don’t think the eyeshadow would immediately shatter.
Here are the swatches:
On top is Smooth Latte and on the bottom is Deep Mocha.
The eyeshadows are smooth in texture, but somewhat sheer. I had to swipe my brush over skin a few times to build up opacity. The pigmentation is lacking.
These wore on me for four hours. By hora cinco Deep Mocha was mostly gone and Smooth Latte was putting up a fight to stay. I always use eyelid primer and even with primer I couldn’t get the shadows to last for more than 4 hours.
Even if one desired a natural look, one doesn’t desire a disappearing act. My eyelids are oily, but with primer and lots of diligence I manage to make most eyeshadows last for at least 7 hours. I think these two need to step up their game.
Pros: Very affordable (I bought these on sale for 40% off), nice shades, great, convenient packaging.
Cons: Somewhat sheer and not long-lasting.
