Every since I found out that Bite Beauty released a dark green and a dark blue lipstick, I’ve been eager to get my hands on them.
I have them! 😀
Don’t you just love the boxes they come in? The new images printed on them look so fashionable.
Kale is on the left and Squid Ink (I get a kick out of this name!) is on the right.
They are both very dark so it’s difficult to see the color disparity well. If you concentrate on the images you can see that one is green and the other blue.
Squid Ink is on the top and Kale is on the bottom.

So how did they fare?
They are both extremely pigmented and applied beautifully on my lips. They feel very comfortable when first applied and are moisturizing.
I had to run the bullet over my lips a couple of times because the lipstick is kind of greasy (this is the best way I can describe it) and the color sort of slides around at first.
Without eating or drinking, these last for 3 hours on me. They never truly “dry down” (many lipsticks set themselves, whether they are satin or creme) so I am always at risk of smudging.
With drinking or eating, it’s best to avoid touching the cup or utensil because the lipstick will come right off. I really think (after trying a few Bite lipsticks) that the natural ingredients in Bite products will always put us in a position of reapplication every 3 hours. It seems to be too difficult to create a lipstick that stays in place and contains natural ingredients.
Pros: Divine colors, feels comfortable on the lips, lovely packaging, very pigmented.
Cons: Doesn’t last for more than 3 hours, transfers easily, somewhat expensive.
Grade: B (for both shades)
I will keep these because I simply love the colors, but I just want to warn everyone that these are not perfect blue and green lipsticks. It’s a real shame because the colors are wonderfully vivid and intense.
