Tuesday Talk: Self Care Sessions Vol. 9

Well, how has your week been, dear?

Mine could have been better. This weekend seemed to be “Let’s All Fight with Christina Week!” at home. I’m ready to be adopted by another family. Know any takers?

Here is what I did this week:

  1. Cleaned out under the table in the living room. This may not seem like a relaxing activity, but it was something that needed to be checked off my list. I can finally check it off!
  2. Went to visit my friend’s cat. I had to do this anyway (my friend is on vacation and asked me to check in on her), but this is a treat because Princess Cosette is such a sweetheart. She’s a very cuddly cat.
  3. I went to Heather Gardens and the Cloisters. I took several photos. The gardens are simply gorgeous right now.
  4. I decided to say “fuck you” to a friend who rudely and callously cut me off a while back. This was a different friend from the one I talked about before. The incident still bothered me months after it happened, but I only recently decided I didn’t care anymore.
  5. I’ve decided I want to learn French. I’m eager to read Victor Hugo’s works in his native language.

Here are the garden photos.

  2. Aw, you’re cat-sitting? How fun 🙂 Sorry to hear about the less than pleasant situation at home this week.

I keep forgetting to share this with you. Every time I see your self-care posts, I think of this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6A2F5ky9SELU0Zfd05YMEpyNUk/view?pli=1

  4. Beautiful pictures!! I’m so sorry you’re having such difficulties with negligent friends and contentious fam. I’ve been having a horrible summer…new meds and the side effects while I’m healing from other medical trauma. Finally figured out on my own what the primary culprit was and my doc agreed with me about changing the dosage….it’s already having a positive impact and I’m slowly starting to feel human again. I’m actually going to grocery shop today, and we’re going to have supper on the deck because the weather is so beautiful today! 😀

We will totally adopt you ❤ ❤ ❤

I can’t cuddle any animal, I feel their heartbeat and breathe and that somehow scares me or tickles me …well not sure 😀 you have done a lot of work this week darling …French and Spanish learning is in my to do list as well 🙂

Wow the gardens look so serene and beautiful!
Sorry your family has been so conflict-seeking lately. That’s tough.
My week has been tough, I’ve been very tired some evenings so I couldn’t do the things I planned, like going for runs or to a yoga class. My evening commute is starting to get on my nerves. But it’s going to be worse as the days get shorter…
Good luck learning French! Reading Victor Hugo’s novels is quite a big task, but his poetry is beautiful and usually written in rather simple language, so it should be accessible to you fairly quickly. One of my favorite poems is one he wrote about his daughter who drowned when she was a teenager – not a light subject, but a beautiful piece.
