I accumulated three of the current shades from the main line.
L-R: Lovespell, TBT, Hangry
Swatches top to bottom: Hangry, TBT and Lovespell.
Hangry is described as “berry”. It is a dark berry matte shade that dries down semi-matte and into a rich deep burgundy berry. It lasts about 4 hours on me before I need to reapply, and it fades a little in the center by the fourth hour.
TBT is described as “mauve”. It’s a soft dusty pink that is more neutral than anything else. It starts out as a lighter pink once applied and mellows out into a very nice dark mauve on my complexion within about 20 minutes of application. It lasts for about four hours on me. It is semi-matte.
Lovespell is described as “pink”. It’s a warm bright deep pink, somewhat deeper than fuchsia but still bright and fun. It lasts for 6 hours on me. It is semi-matte.
While testing all three out, I was careful to eat and drink delicately to avoid wiping off more lipstick than I needed to. With these precautions I experienced the results reported above.
The tube packaging is easy to store in my purse and easy to apply. I can discretely reapply while at my desk at work. The lipsticks are a little on the drying side but they aren’t uncomfortable.
I love all three colors and I would recommend them.
Pros: Great colors, great pigmentation, decent price point, easy to apply (applicator is not messy), convenient slim tube packaging.
Cons: Two of them last not much longer than 4 hours, only available where Tarte is sold.
Grades: Hangry and TBT (B+); Lovespell (A-)
I paid $20 for each one at Sephora.
