The second eyebrow product in my Maybelline haul is the new chubby pomade pencil.
It’s surprisingly plump for what it’s meant to accomplish. I suppose the design team thought a thicker pencil would cover more surface area.
It’s not too long. What it lacks in length it compensates for in girth.
The tip has a nice point to it, but I have to figure out how to sharpen it.
As with Define + Fill Duo, the color is not as dark and intense as I expected.
It darkens my brows but doesn’t tame them much. I noticed the pomade working a little to push my brow hairs down, but the effect wasn’t terribly significant. I wouldn’t buy this again for solely that purpose.
It is easy to get heavy handed with this. A few times I found myself looking like Oscar the Grouch in the eyebrow department because if I’m not careful, I could overdo it and get incredibly dark and heavy eyebrows. Watch out for that. I recommend a very light hand and possibly using an angled eyebrow brush to apply this.
I’m able to make it work for me when I use a light touch and merely fill in the spots that are sparse. I brush out my brows and use very little product.
Would I repurchase? I don’t think I would. This is a good brow product but it’s not exactly as natural looking as I prefer, and there are additional steps one should take when working with this.
I recommend this for people with sparse, light or very thin eyebrows who want more dramatic eyebrows.
