Lipstick, Lipgloss or Balm?

Which kinda lip product suits you?

I’m a lipstick gal through and through. I have pigmented, two-toned lips. Lipgloss is too sheer for me and I need a product that is opaque and can completely cover my natural lip color. I rarely buy lipgloss for myself anymore.

Surprisingly, I’ve not used up a lip balm in over a year. I don’t use that product as much as the average person does. My lips don’t get terribly dry or that chapped. I think my use of regular lipstick helps in this regard. The lipstick acts as a protective barrier against the cold, and my lips receive some form of protection.

I’ve been applying lip balm before bed for a bit of moisture recently, but that is the only time I wear it.

How about you? Is there a lip product you seem to use more than the rest?

I have a beauty-related question for you. I’m obsessed with this product: http://usa.loccitane.com/divine-youth-oil,82,1,53640,613240.htm

I tried it on for funsies at the airport before a long flight and was amazed that my skin still looked great after the long, dry flight. BUT it’s $108 and I cannot and will not spend that much on a beauty product, unless it also gives me special powers.

Plus, they never have sales or give out free samples. I admit I have resorted to soaking a Q-tip with the store’s trial bottle and carefully carrying it home with me. That’s how much I love this stuff.

I can’t seem to find a cheaper copycat version with the same results. I’ve used Olay Ageless night cream, pure rosehip oil, but nothing works like this stuff. Any advice?

    • I’m pretty sure Sephora gives out L’Occitane samples. I would keep an eye on that for the Divine Oil.

My favorite facial oil is DHC Olive Virgin Oil. It’s much cheaper and works extremely well. You could ask a couple of friends to give you the Divine Oil as a joint gift.

  2. Lipstick through and through. Glosses are too sticky and gloopy, and I prefer the lipstick finish.

lipsticks throughout the year these days but I love tinted lipbalms as well… not a lipgloss person at all… 🙂

  4. When I was younger I was more into glosses. These days I’m definitely a lipstick kinda girl.

Recently I have become obsessed with Bite lipsticks. I think my favorite lippie formula are liquid lipsticks.
