Clinique High Impact Lip Colour in Cider Berry

The older I get, the more I appreciate Clinique lip products. They’re sort of the sweeter, preppier sister of Bobbi Brown, the other cosmetic line I think of as a “grown up” brand. Even though I’ll always love the 18 year old punky Christina, I sometimes need something softer and more conventional than my blood reds, frosted browns and wild blues.

That’s why I ordered Cider Berry.

The color looks darker in promo photos.

It looks quite dark in the tube.

The swatch, however, tells a different story.

The color is sort of a soft berry red. It looks more pink on me than I expected.

I really like it. I think I will use it more come spring. I’m pleased with the surprise of it being less deep berry and more soft reddish berry because I’ve been wanting more soft shades and MLBB shades. This is not quite MLBB for me but it is a more muted lip color for this red lips/brown lips/anything but nude gal.

It doesn’t last for hours and hours, but it lasts for maybe 4 hours before I need a touch up. This is acceptable for me because I know Clinique lipsticks are designed for those who prefer natural looks.

This costs $17 USD.

I’m not a fan of Clinique lip products, though I’ve only ever tried their old lipstick line – smells very chemical-y, and I don’t like that!
