L’Occitane Shea Butter Cleansing Oil

Did I ever tell you I love being a Sephora VIB Rouge member? You get so many great rewards!

One of my rewards last year was a box filled with L’Occitane products.

This cleansing oil was in the box. It was a small bottle, but that’s enough for me.

I’m so happy this was in the box. I’ve been wanting to try this for a while, and I thought I would have to purchase the full sized bottle.

From the website: “This cleansing oil, with its silky texture, efficiently removes impurities and make-up (including waterproof) in a single step.
Enriched with nourishing shea oil (5%), it transforms into a soft emulsion when applied with water to preserve skin’s natural hydration. Your skin is left clean and comfortable, and your complexion looking fresh and radiant.”

I used this a few times during the especially cold months. I rubbed it over my face after removing my eye makeup. It foamed to a degree  with the addition of water.

It is richly moisturizing and feels silky smooth against my skin. It did break down all my makeup and the day’s grime well enough to remove pretty much everything.

I had to use a foaming face wash after this because my face felt a little oily after a few rinses.

There is a perfumed scent with this, as is common with L’Occitane products. The scent wasn’t powerful enough to deter me from using it, but I generally don’t love strongly scented products for my face.

I think this would be great for those who have dry or normal skin. It’s a little too greasy for oily faced people. Otherwise, it’s a nice cleansing oil.

This is $24 at Sephora and at L’Occitane.

  1. What did you use to remove it from your face? Plain water?
