These new L’Oreal lipcolors sort of remind me of those Cover Girl Outlast lip colors that come with a balm intended to seal in the color.
That is how the concept works. Let’s go check it out.
It’s double ended for ease of use. Nifty design, if you ask me.
(I am aware that no one has asked me. Hush now.)
The color is a rich raisin plum. There is some microshimmer in there.
The formula is rather thin and not so creamy. Once applied, it’s supposed to last for 24 hours, be transfer proof and water resistant.
I utilized the following technique when using this: I first applied it to my bare lips, wait about 20 seconds, applied another layer, then waited one minute. I then applied the accompanying balm all over my lips.
The balm helped to hydrate and soothe my lips, but it wasn’t useful in keeping color on my lips. The color was still uneven, despite my attempts to use more than one coat and the wait time to allow the coats to dry.
This lasted 4 to 6 hours. It would be really difficult to test this for 24 hours straight, but I feel confident in drawing the conclusion that this is not long lasting at all.
I would not recommend this. For a long lasting lip color, try Revlon Colorstay Ultra Suede lipsticks.
