When Marc Jacobs branched out into the cosmetics scene, I tried a deluxe sample of their sleek gel liner pencil, but it wasn’t until I purchased this blush that I had an experience with a full sized product.
You’ll rarely read this term on this blog, but the easiest way for me to describe Marc Jacobs Beauty product packaging is “sexy”.
It is sexy pants packaging. For real.
There is an insert placed over the blush pan to protect it. This is a nice consideration, but if you buy one just make sure the insert doesn’t impede closure of the compact.
From the website: “CREAMY FINISH POWDER. PURE UNADULTERATED COLOR. SCULPTED RESULT.
INSPIRED BY MARC’S FAVORITE TATTOO, SHAMELESS BOLD BLUSH SAYS YOU SHOULD NEVER APOLOGIZE. THIS PATENTED POWDER BRINGS AN UNPRECEDENTED VIBRANCY TO YOUR CHEEKS. SLEEK ON THE OUTSIDE, SERIOUSLY GENEROUS ON THE INSIDE WITH PURE UNADULTERATED COLOR. CREATE A LOOK THAT’S POWERFUL. LAVISH. SHAMELESS.
- UNLIKE TRADITIONAL POWDERS, THIS PATENTED CREAMY FORMULA MELDS WITH SKIN AND SCULPTS PERFECT CONTOURS.

Obsessed is described as a “warm pink”. It is a soft berry pink with warm tones. I’m happy it’s not blue or mauve because there’s no way in heck I could wear it.
I hesitate to call this a real matte because it doesn’t seem to be as flat as a matte blush. It’s certainly not shimmery or frosted. As you can see in the swatch, the color is tame and extremely wearable.
It wears for at least 7 hours a day. I haven’t tested this for much longer than that, but so far I am satisfied. It applies as a nice flush of soft rosy color on my cheeks. I never like high pigment blush so this is a refreshing change of product. My Colourpop Cruel Intentions blush can look very dark if I’m not careful. I feel like Obsessed is a great blush if you’re still learning how to apply makeup or if you’re heavy handed with your brush.
I’m going to buy a couple more shades from this line. I see it becoming a favorite in my HG lineup.
This costs $30 USD
