Tuesday Talk: Self Care Sessions Vol. 37

Gosh, it’s been ages since I did one of these. I just wasn’t in the mood. My depression roared up with a vengeance and I did the bare minimum in self care. I didn’t have anything to report back.

I’ve been doing better. Here is what I’ve done this week:

  • Spent time in bed. I’ve been cuddling under the covers while watching TV or listening to music. I’m just not going to bother getting out of bed when I’m depressed. It’s much easier to cope when I’m warm and comfortable.
  • I’ve been marathon watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. At least she can fight her demons.
  • I bought THC’s “Need to Destroy”. Watching Buffy reawakened my adoration for 1990s alternative/club bands and the music they play. THC disbanded some years ago but their music is still around.
  • Deactivated my Facebook account for a week. It was nice to disconnect and not feel overwhelmed by politics or the state of the world.

What did you do for self care recently?

  1. Eat (too much), sleep (too little) and made a Facebook page for the blog. That has yet to go live. I am glad to hear you are feeling at least a little better.

  2. I’ve been in a bit of a funk myself. Too much happening all at once. I’m slowly making my way back. Baby steps, right?

    I love Buffy! 🙂

I like to deactivate my FB from time to time. Sending positive vibes and hugs your way! I’ve slowly been crawling out of my funk. I think things are getting better.
