A Different Grape has been on my wish list for some time. I like anything grape (including the real thing!) and Clinique’s lipstick formula has always been gratifying for me.
Imagine my delight when I discovered a healthy stash of them at the Cosmetics Market, each one only $7. Clinique prices this lipstick at $17.
It does come in the pea green hued packaging, indicating that it was initially a sample lipstick. The usual Different Lipstick is housed in a silver tube.
Here is the swatch:
Clinique describes this as a Pinkish Grape with a Satin finish, Medium coverage and a member of the Violet family.
This is a good lipstick in terms of what Clinique promises. It is a satin finish lip color, offers medium coverage, and appears as a soft grape pink on my lips. It’s more violet than I thought it would be (I thought it would be plum) but it looks great on me regardless.
What’s awesome about this lip color is that is can work for different skin tones. I think if you’re fair skinned it would look like it does in the tube on your lips. If you’re dark skinned it would look like a slightly grapey soft pink.
Would you try A Different Grape?
