Summer Beauty Basics: Coral Lip Color

Summer is the time to wear bright lip colors, but we don’t have to stick to the usual watermelon pinks and pretty peach glosses. Orange and coral have been big this year. Eschewing the scary shades of the 1980s, today’s formulas are sheer and more wearable, instead of opaque and bold.

Two of my favorites:

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

Both are great for my tanned skin. Papaya is a little too sheer for my liking, but I handle this by applying Smashbox Medium Lip Pencil over my whole mouth and then adding a layer of Papaya gloss.

I want to try NYX Lip Cream in San Paulo, but the Cherry Culture website is sold out of that shade :( I have already added it to my wish list, so they will inform me when they restock.

How about you? Have you taken to the orange/coral trend this summer? If not, what are your fave go-to summer lip colors?
